Sintered silicon carbide (SSiC) is a polycrystalline alpha-type silicon carbide produced from puresubmicron SiC powder with non-oxide sintering aids. It is processed in a proper ceramic forming process of extrusion, dry pressing, or isostatic pressing, and sintered at 2,200 in an inert gas atmosphere.
